“In the end, as First Lady, this isn’t just a policy issue for me. This is a passion. This is my mission.” —Michelle Obama on the Let’s Move! campaign
Wow! It was a pretty wild morning! I woke up bright and early, debated over what to wear, fixed my hair the best I could and headed down the hall to have a little visit with First Lady Michelle Obama. In my home office Google’s production crew was ready to go to get me plugged in to the First Lady’s first Fireside Hangout on Google+. What an honor!
On the agenda was the Let’s Move! initiative. In her time in the White House, fighting childhood obesity and getting our kids active and fit through physical activity and proper diet has been high on Michelle Obama’s priority list. I commend her for attempting to tackle this issue. I, along with some others, posed questions which I feel Mrs. Obama expertly answered. I hope you will take a moment to watch the chat.
Without the support of you, my readers, opportunities to take the voice of Lexie’s Kitchen—and healthier eating—to a national stage like this one would have never opened up. So thank you! We are being heard, we are making a difference. Keep up the good fight my friends!

This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to
change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition.”
