As a personal trainer, I run into middle-aged women all the time at the gym who thought they would never be regular exercisers. Now they are—and they started with an easy workout like this one.
Hopefully you’ve allowed yourself some moments of backyard lounging this summer. Taking in a bit of nature under the shade of a tree with a glass of iced tea does wonders for the mind and soul. Sometimes, if I feel like it, I add to my lounging an easy workout that does wonders for my body, too!
As a personal trainer, I run into middle-aged women all the time at the gym who thought they would never be regular exercisers. They tell me that the thought of exercising 2-3 hours a week seemed like a herculean task. But sorely out of shape and developing aches and pains, they decided they’d better try. Some started with 10 minutes of yoga a day. Some committed to walking with a friend twice a week. The point is, they started somewhere, and they started small. In time, and motivated by how good it felt, they added 20 minutes here and 20 minutes there.
Easy Workout & Metabolism Booster
An example of starting small would be the exercises in this easy workout—the Backyard Metabolism Boost. You can do it in the privacy of your home or on a towel in your backyard. Why not make that glass of iced tea your reward?
I promise that completing this quick round of exercises will leave you with a sense of accomplishment that you will want to build upon.
Enjoy your health!
